Fibonacci Sequence of Numbers

The name Fibonacci sequence was first introduced in the 19th century by Édouard Lucas, although the history of this sequence of numbers starts many centuries before Jesus Christ. Gematria

What is Gematria?

Gematria is an old cabbalistic method (Qabalah) of interpreting Scriptures by interchanging words whose letters have the same numerical value when added.

Gematria comes from the Greek Word Geometria which means Geometry (Geo means earth and Metria means measurement). This method was very important in antiquity, especially as concerns Classical Greece and Judaism. It seems that the Greeks invented the method and the Jews optimized it.

Implementing Gematria in Modern Languages

Greek and Hebrew are the only two languages with which gematria can be fully implemented as a method of reading words as numbers. Theoretically, any other language can be used in the same way, including English.
